Jon Jordan has been UK Contact Point for the North Sea INTERREG Programme
Secretariat since 2002. This work involves facilitating project development, publicising the Programme, Partner Search
and monitoring existing projects.
Aberdeenshire
Council
In the latter part of 2008, Jon
Jordan was contracted to complete the Final Evaluation of the ten year old Aberdeenshire Towns Partnership project.
This was one of the first examples of Community Planning in action when Aberdeenshire Council, Scottish Enterprise Grampian
and Scottish Homes announced the project in 1999 and the Partnership was a leading example of Community Economic Development
in North-East Scotland,
Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd In 2008, Jon Jordan worked with Caledonian Maritime
Assets Ltd plus the Transport Departments of the Irish Government and the Northern Ireland Executive to develop a successful
project application under the INTERREG Strand A Ireland-Northern Ireland- Western Scotland Programme. The project's
title was 'The Small Ferries Strategic Plan' and dealt with the development of ferries to the small island communities
in the area. A common design is envisaged to cater for the needs of island communities in the new Century and associated
issues such as port infrastructure changes and finance will also be examined.
Scottish Government In
early 2008, Jon Jordan worked with the Renewables Policy Team of the Scottish Government to draft a successful project application
in the INTERREG Strand A Ireland-Northern Ireland- Western Scotland programme. The Irish-Scottish Links on Energy Study
(ISLES) examines the feasibility of the construction of an offshore electricity transmission network linking potential
sites for the generation of renewable energy in the coastal waters of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Romanian
Government
In late 2006/early 2007, Jon led a team of consultants drafting the EU cross-border programmes
for the Romanian Government. He worked closely with the Ministry of European Integration and was in charge of drafting
the Romania-Moldova-Ukraine Programme
