European Policy Solutions (eps) was established in 2001 by Jon Jordan and 23 years later we are still going strong. We specialise in research, advice and intelligence about European Union and United Kingdom Government policies and funding opportunities.
Initially, eps specialised in the EU’s structural funds and, for twelve years, Jon Jordan was UK Contact Point for the North Sea INTERREG Programme. Since 2014, our interests have been largely focused on moves to a low carbon economy and energy transition both in the EU and in the UK.
From 2015 to 2018, Jon worked for a Brussels-based association of European Regions who wanted to develop hydrogen and electro-mobility solutions. Recently eps has specialised in the role of hydrogen in energy transition, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors such as the maritime sector. In 2018, Jon successfully drafted the North Sea INTERREG project application “Zero Emission Ports North Sea” and, in October 2023, the “North Sea Hydrogen Valley Ports” project was approved by the North Sea INTERREG Programme. Jon worked closely with partners to draft the project application particularly the Lead Partner, New Energy Coalition based in the Northern Netherlands.
In 2020, Jon worked with ports and the hydrogen value chain in the North Sea Region to establish the North Sea Hydrogen Ports and Maritime Community (NS HyMaP) and eps has provided the Secretariat since its formation. NS HyMaP has its own website http://www..nshymap.co
