Vincent Schouten, Nedstack’s Port Applications Manager will be speaking at the Conference.
A number of speakers have confirmed their participation. These include Alexandra Beaumont from the United Kingdom Government’s Department for Transport (DfT). Alex is Policy Lead for Maritime Technology and Clean Maritime Growth. She will talk about the DfT’s Clean Maritime Growth Plan that was published in July 2019 and is currently being implemented.
The development of hydrogen strategies and activities in ports will feature prominently in the Conference and there will be presentations from a number of ports including the ports of den Helder, Amsterdam and Oostende.
Since the March Conference, there have been significant developments internationally and the most important of these include the creation of the Getting to Zero Coalition which was formed at the UN Climate Summit last September. The establishment of the Poseidon Principles Initiative which looks at the role of private finance in low carbon shipping is also a critical move. Carlo Raucci from the University Maritime Advisory Services (U-MAS) will discuss these developments at the Conference.
